Everyone has a story to share and, through my 20-plus years in journalism, I have had the opportunity to write many of them. Each was important to someone, somewhere and at some time, and I truly feel blessed to have been a part.
My goal has always been to write the stories that come my way in the best manner possible. With that in mind, I am now working toward my Master of Journalism degree at the University of North Texas. It is there I have found a home amongst kindred spirits in the literary world.
My passions continue to be the pursuit of investigative reports, covering nature-related topics and the production of oral histories. My work at UNT is increasing my abilities in all of those areas while also stimulating my creative use of multi-media in storytelling.
There are so very many stories that need to be written, indeed, that must be written before their time passes. It is my hope to write as many of those as possible as I go forward, because I agree with Alex Haley that 'Every person's death is like the burning of a library.'
